In a move prioritizing passenger safety and aiming to reduce road accident risks, Bareilly's Traffic Police has launched a surprise inspection campaign targeting the fleet of roadways buses. A team led by Traffic Police Sub-Inspector Lakhmi Chand thoroughly reviewed various critical safety arrangements within the buses.
During the inspection, police officials specifically instructed bus drivers and conductors to prioritize passenger safety under all circumstances. The focus was on ensuring all essential safety equipment was functioning correctly, with a strong emphasis placed on strict adherence to traffic regulations.
Passenger Vigilance and Safety Advice
Sub-Inspector Lakhmi Chand directly engaged with passengers traveling on the buses, urging them to exercise extreme caution during their journeys. He clarified that touching any unattended or suspicious objects, or acting negligently towards them, could prove fatal.
Passengers were advised not to accept any suspicious items from strangers and to remain aware of the security of their personal belongings. The police stressed that passengers should immediately report any suspicious activity they observe during their journey to the bus driver, conductor, or directly to the police.
Promoting Traffic Discipline and Public Responsibility
Officials believe that minor precautions taken during travel can be instrumental in preventing potential major mishaps. The primary objective of this campaign is to educate passengers on ensuring a safe journey, thereby effectively controlling the number of road accidents.
The police department is of the view that such awareness campaigns will help foster a sense of accountability and discipline towards traffic rules among the general public. It is the duty of every citizen to avoid haste when boarding or alighting buses, not to distract the driver while the vehicle is in motion, and to follow all safety regulations.
