Enhanced Security Measures for Festivals Announced
The local police administration in Damoh has announced comprehensive security arrangements to ensure the peaceful and safe conduct of the upcoming Navratri, Garba festival, and Dussehra celebrations. A crucial review meeting was held at the Police Control Room located at Jabalpur Naka.
During the meeting, Superintendent of Police Anand Kaladagi discussed strict guidelines with all Durga Puja committees and Garba organizers. He emphasized that obtaining legal permission is mandatory for organizing public events, and no unauthorized events will be permitted.
Safety and Surveillance Prioritized
Prioritizing safety, organizers have been instructed to install high-quality CCTV cameras in pandals and verify visitor identity cards at entrance points. Special provisions for the safety of women and children will be made, including the deployment of volunteers and ensuring clear, unobstructed emergency exit routes.
To prevent incidents like fires, organizers are also mandated to ensure the adequate availability of fire extinguishers, sand, and water. This proactive approach aims to create a secure environment for all attendees.
Traffic and Sound Management Directives
The police have stressed the strict adherence to prescribed decibel limits and night-time restrictions for the use of sound systems. Action will be taken against any violations of the stipulated time and sound levels. Special parking plans will be implemented in main markets and along immersion routes to maintain smooth traffic flow and prevent inconvenience to the public.
Social Media Vigilance and Public Appeal
A stern warning has been issued against posting any misleading, objectionable, or communal disharmony-inciting content on social media. Strict punitive action will be taken against offenders. The police have appealed to citizens to immediately report any such activities to the concerned authorities.
Anand Kaladagi, Superintendent of Police, urged all festival committee representatives to coordinate with the administration and celebrate the festivals with brotherhood and harmony.
The meeting was attended by CSP H.R. Pandey, Kotwali TI Manish Kumar, Traffic In-charge Dalbir Singh Marko, along with several distinguished citizens and members of various committees.
