Pickup Plunges into Ditch After Losing Control

A road accident occurred near Amritpur town on the Badaun Marg in Farrukhabad district on Wednesday night. A pickup truck lost control and fell into a ten-foot deep ditch. The incident took place amidst bad weather, and fortunately, the vehicle's driver escaped unharmed.

Driver's Account of the Incident

According to eyewitnesses and the driver, Virendra, son of Mohanlal, a resident of Nagla Vasola, was returning home in his pickup (Registration Number UP 76 AT 0908) after unloading goods. He reported that strong winds and heavy rain were present when a truck coming from the opposite direction flashed its high beams directly into his eyes. The combination of adverse conditions and excessive light caused Virendra to lose control of the pickup, resulting in the vehicle plunging directly into a ditch approximately ten feet deep beside the road.

Driver Safe, Vehicle Damaged

Immediately after the accident, Virendra managed to exit the vehicle safely. He remained near the damaged pickup throughout the night. In the morning, upon learning of the incident, a large crowd of local residents gathered at the scene. With the help of the locals and a crane, the pickup was eventually pulled out of the ditch after several hours of strenuous effort. Although the pickup suffered severe damage, the driver's safety is being considered a significant relief. Onlookers expressed satisfaction at the driver's well-being.

Upon receiving information about the road accident, the police administration has taken cognizance of the incident and has initiated an investigation. There is a buzz in the area regarding this accident, with people sharing their reactions, particularly concerning the incident occurring due to bad weather and intense lighting.
