Rahul, Priyanka Gandhi Among Leaders Named in Akashvani Bhavan Trespass Complaint

Leaders Accused of Forcible Entry into Akashvani Bhavan

A complaint has been lodged against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, along with other prominent figures, for allegedly forcibly entering the Akashvani Bhavan premises and staging a protest. The incident occurred during a march by India Alliance MPs towards the Election Commission.

The complaint, filed at the Parliament Street police station, states that despite being stopped by security personnel and staff, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Congress MP Deepender Hooda unlawfully entered the Akashvani Bhavan complex through the reception gate. They subsequently sat on a protest under a tree within the premises.

Protest Over Alleged Voter List Irregularities

The protest, organized by India Alliance MPs to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the voter list, lasted for over 8 hours. Reports indicate that a PCR call was made as soon as the leaders entered the premises, and legal action is now being sought.

The leaders were marching from Parliament towards the Election Commission headquarters. When stopped by Delhi Police at Parliament Marg, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi reportedly evaded police and entered the nearby Akashvani Bhavan to commence their demonstration. They were later taken into custody by the police late on Tuesday night, though subsequently released.
