SP Stages Major Demonstration in Balrampur
In Balrampur, the Samajwadi Party (SP) organized a significant demonstration on Thursday, raising demands for transparency and fairness in the electoral process. Party workers marched from Santoshi Mata Temple to the District Magistrate's office.
The SP submitted a memorandum addressed to the President, requesting an independent investigation into questions arising from the electoral process. Party leaders also urged for a constitutional and legal review of alleged alterations in Form-6 and fair scrutiny of voter claims.
Allegations of Voter List Irregularities
Accusations of irregularities in the voter list were highlighted, with Shravasti MP Ram Shiromani Verma and Gaserhi MLA Rakesh Yadav alleging collusion by the government. They demanded a special audit of names removed from the voter list and emphasized the need for constitutional action against the Chief Election Commissioner pending the completion of ongoing investigations.
SP leaders stressed that complete transparency in the electoral process is crucial for maintaining public trust in the democratic system. They warned of escalating the protest if improvements are not made to the voter list.
Memorandum Submitted, Action Promised
The protest saw the participation of several senior party officials and workers, including SP District President Manik Lal Kashyap, former MLAs Ram Sagar Akela, Masood Khan, Anwar Hashmi, and Arif Anwar Hashmi. Local leaders such as Nursing Pal Yadav, Prakhar Kalhans, Dr. Bhanu Tiwari, Manish Chand Sonkar, Shilpa Raj, Ganesh Prasad Yadav, and Sumaiya Rana were also present.
The district administration received the memorandum and assured that it would be forwarded to the relevant higher authorities. The protesters affirmed their commitment to raising their voices for the protection of democratic values until appropriate constitutional and legal action is taken on their demands.
