In a decisive military response to Pakistan’s escalatory actions, India on Saturday launched targeted precision strikes on multiple Pakistani military locations following attempted air intrusions at more than 26 sites across the western border. The Indian military confirmed that all intrusions—from Srinagar to Nalia—were successfully neutralised.
Addressing a special media briefing in Delhi, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, alongside Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, stated that Pakistan’s military engaged in “provocative” overnight actions, deploying drones, loitering munitions, long-range weapons, and fighter jets to attack both military and civilian infrastructure in India.
Wing Commander Singh detailed the attempted Pakistani incursions, revealing that while India intercepted the bulk of the threats, limited damage was sustained at airbases in Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, and Bhuj. High-speed missile attacks were also reported after 1:40 am, targeting several air bases in Punjab in what Singh called a “deplorable and cowardly act.”
The Pakistani military further violated international norms by targeting civil infrastructure, including healthcare facilities and school premises at Srinagar, Avantipur, and Udhampur air bases. Colonel Qureshi denounced these attacks, stating, “Pakistan once again displayed a reckless disregard for humanitarian boundaries.”
In a calibrated and strategic counter-operation, Indian fighter aircraft carried out air-launched precision strikes on six Pakistani military targets: Rafiki, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Juniya. Additionally, India engaged radar sites at Pasroor and Sialkot Aviation using precision-guided munitions, focusing exclusively on military infrastructure such as command and control centres, radar facilities, and weapon storage areas.
“Indian armed forces remain in a high state of operational readiness,” stated Wing Commander Singh. “Our actions have been appropriately calibrated and effectively countered Pakistan’s provocations. We remain committed to non-escalation, provided Pakistan reciprocates.”
The Ministry of Defence reaffirmed that India’s retaliatory measures were limited in scope, strictly targeting military objectives to minimise collateral damage, while clearly demonstrating India’s preparedness and resolve in the face of persistent aggression.
