The makers of the upcoming Hindi-Telugu bilingual film Dacoit unveiled the first teaser on Monday, May 26. Marking the directorial debut of cinematographer Shaneil Deo, the film is slated for a theatrical release on December 25, just in time for Christmas.
The teaser provides a brief look at the three lead characters portrayed by Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur, and Anurag Kashyap. Sesh’s character, an elusive criminal, delivers a gripping voiceover: “Hey, Juliet. What happened to you isn’t a trivial thing. Everybody betrayed you. But I am not here to betray you. No. I am here to destroy you.” The trailer also features an intense moment where a high-speed train crashes into a police vehicle, hinting at the film’s explosive narrative.
The caption accompanying the teaser and the stylized “X-Mas” text at the end suggest a raw and intense story centered around a woman and her complicated past relationships. Earlier reports describe the plot as a gripping tale of two former lovers who must come together to execute a series of robberies that could change their lives.
Written by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo, Dacoit also stars Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan, and Kamakshi Bhaskarla in significant roles. The film’s music is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, with cinematography by Danush Bhaskar and editing by Kodati Pavan Kalyan.
Currently, the film is being shot in Hyderabad, with a major production schedule planned next in Maharashtra. Dacoit is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, co-produced by Suniel Narang, and presented by Annapurna Studios.
