Actress Nupur Sanon, sister of Bollywood star Kriti Sanon, is facing online criticism over her fashion brand Label Nobo, launched in 2024. Social media users have slammed the brand for what they perceive as excessively high prices for basic designs.
The controversy erupted on platforms like Reddit, where users called out the brand’s pricing strategy. The most expensive kurta set is listed at ₹26,500, while the cheapest dress costs around ₹7,000. The brand’s claim of using “premium high-quality fabrics” hasn’t resonated with critics, who argue that the designs lack uniqueness and fail to justify the pricing.
Despite the criticism, Label Nobo was launched with endorsements and support from several celebrities including Kriti Sanon, Uorfi Javed, Sanjana Sanghi, and Rida Tharana. The brand, whose name stands for “No Boundaries”, offers a range of ethnic and Indo-western clothing. A Banarasi lehenga priced at ₹21,000 is currently the most expensive item on the site.
While the backlash continues, neither Nupur nor the brand has issued an official statement responding to the criticism.
