Bhopal: Gautam Nagar police have arrested two men for allegedly threatening a tea shop owner with knives and demanding protection money.
The accused, identified as Farhan of Kamal Nagar and Ayan alias Ayyu of Rajiv Colony, were found in possession of sharp-edged weapons.
Complainant Deepak Tiwari, who runs a tea stall in Shiv Shakti Nagar, Chhola Mandir, reported that around 9.30 pm on Saturday the duo barged into his shop, abused him, and demanded ₹10,000 per month as protection money. They also pressured him to withdraw an earlier case and threatened to kill him if he refused.
Police said both men have a history of criminal activity. Farhan faces previous charges under the Arms Act at Koh-e-Fiza and Nishatpura police stations, while Ayan has serious cases registered against him in Nishatpura and Gautam Nagar.
Both accused were produced in court on Monday for further legal proceedings.
