Samay Raina’s ‘Unfiltered India’ Tour Cancelled Amid ‘India’s Got Latent’ Controversy

Stand-up comedian Samay Raina’s entire Unfiltered India tour has been cancelled following the controversy surrounding his show India’s Got Latent (IGT). The cancellations started in Gujarat, where shows in Ahmedabad and Surat were called off due to objections from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Now, all of Raina’s scheduled performances across India have been removed from BookMyShow, with no active listings remaining.

India’s Got Latent Controversy

The backlash erupted after YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia made an inappropriate comment about parents to a contestant on IGT, triggering widespread outrage. Complaints were filed in Guwahati and Mumbai, accusing Allahbadia and others, including Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ashish Chanchlani, of making obscene and offensive remarks. Mumbai Police have booked the individuals, with Allahbadia issued a fresh notice after missing his scheduled appearance.

Raina Removes IGT Episodes

Amid mounting legal action, Raina has deleted all IGT episodes from his YouTube channel. Meanwhile, Allahbadia, who recently received the Disruption of the Year award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the National Creator Awards, now faces accusations of vulgarity and misuse of free speech, reigniting debates on the limits of humor and expression in digital content.
