Former Australian cricket star David Warner is set to make his much-anticipated debut in Telugu cinema. The explosive left-handed batter, known for his power-hitting, took to social media to announce his cameo role in the upcoming film Robinhood, starring Nithiin and Sreeleela.
Sharing the film’s poster on March 15, Warner expressed his excitement: “Indian Cinema, here I come. Excited to be a part of #Robinhood. Thoroughly enjoyed shooting for this one. GRAND RELEASE WORLDWIDE ON MARCH 28th.” The poster, which features Warner’s look from the film, has already generated buzz among fans. The tagline fittingly reads, “After shining on the ground, it is time for him to shine on the silver screen.”
Directed by Venky Kudumula and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Robinhood promises to be an action-packed entertainer. The film marks the second collaboration between Nithiin and Kudumula after their successful 2020 romantic action-comedy Bheeshma. Music for the film is composed by GV Prakash Kumar.
Warner’s connection with Telugu cinema is well-known. As the former captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, who led the team to an IPL title in 2016, he won the hearts of Telugu fans not just with his cricket but also with his love for Telugu songs and dance moves. His viral reels and TikTok videos, where he grooved to songs like Srivalli from Pushpa and Mind Block from Sarileru Neekevvaru, made him a fan favorite.
