Major Breakthrough in Crime Prevention

In a significant operation aimed at curbing crime in the Bareilly district, the Bithari Chainpur Police have achieved a major success by apprehending a notorious criminal named Aaquib. He was found in possession of an illegal weapon and live cartridges.

Arrest and Seizure

The arrest occurred on October 10, 2026, near the Navadiya Jhada road. Acting on a tip-off, the police laid a siege and apprehended the accused. The police identified the arrested individual as Aaquib, son of Zakir, a local resident. During the search, an illegal pistol (tamancha) and two live cartridges were recovered from his possession.

A case under the Arms Act, Crime Number 604/2026, has been registered, and further legal proceedings are underway.

Criminal History and Previous Cases

Initial police investigations have revealed a lengthy criminal history for Aaquib. He has a total of eleven (11) cases registered against him across various police stations, including Bithari Chainpur, Cantt, Premnagar, Faridpur, Hafizganj, and Nawabganj. These charges include theft, vehicle-related crimes, attempted murder, and violations of the Gangster Act.

Previously, he was also named in a case involving the theft of tires.

Attempt to Evade Justice and Potential Intent

During interrogation, the accused Aaquib admitted to having previously lived in hiding in Delhi. He returned after his work there ceased. Authorities suspect that he was planning to commit a major criminal act during sensitive periods like the Navratri festival.

Acting on precise information from an informant, the police team demonstrated swift action, setting a trap near the bridge and apprehending him.

Further Investigation and Network Search

The team that made the arrest included Station House Officer Rajesh Babu Mishra, Sub-Inspector Yogendra Katare, and other police personnel. Currently, the accused Aaquib is being presented in court, where the legal process for his transfer to jail will be completed.

The police are now conducting intensive interrogations to uncover his network and identify any potential accomplices, aiming to ensure the prevention of crime in the district.
