District Collector Provides Immediate Relief to Family Struggling for Death Certificate

An excellent example of administrative sensitivity was witnessed in Damoh district, where District Collector Pratapnarayan Yadav heard the plight of a distressed family from Agara, Batiyagarh village. He issued immediate instructions for the death certificate of their deceased son to be issued.
This incident occurred within the district hospital premises when the parents of the deceased, Satyam Gautam, Girish Gautam and Meena Gautam, had been seeking the certificate for several days. On October 10, 2026, Girish and Meena Gautam met the Collector in the district hospital complex and recounted their ordeal: their son, Satyam Gautam, had passed away on September 22, 2026, but they were facing significant difficulties in obtaining his death certificate.
Immediate Intervention and Issuance
Hearing the poignant distress of the family, Collector Pratapnarayan Yadav immediately took cognizance. Adopting a humane approach, he assured them that the certificate process would be completed on a priority basis.
Taking swift action within the hospital premises, Collector Yadav immediately instructed the Civil Surgeon Dr. Prahlad Patel and Tehsildar Raghunandan Chaturvedi via mobile to expedite the issuance of the death certificate for the deceased Satyam Gautam with the highest priority. As a result of these clear and prompt directives, the District Hospital administration acted without delay, prepared the death certificate for the deceased Satyam Gautam, and handed it over to the family.
Emphasis on Humane Approach
This promptness provided immense relief to the family, who lauded the district administration's proactiveness and sensitivity at the local level. Following this incident, the Collector issued strict directives to all officers and employees in the district. He clearly stated that the problems of citizens approaching offices should be resolved on a completely humane basis.
The Collector emphasized that prioritizing human emotions in administrative tasks is our utmost duty, as ultimately, we are all human and it is essential to understand each other's pain.
