Farmers Delighted by Favorable Crop Prices in Bamori Visit
Former Minister Mahendra Singh Sisodia visited the Bamori constituency in Madhya Pradesh on November 2, 2026. During his interaction with local farmers, he discussed current market prices for their produce. Sisodia noted that farmers in the region are currently very happy, primarily due to the better prices being set by the state government for their crops.
This situation, he explained, ensures income security for farmers and provides an opportunity for their hard work to flourish. The former minister detailed the market rates for various crops, including maize, coriander, wheat, paddy, and gram. Maize is selling between ₹2600 and ₹2700 per quintal, coriander at ₹15,000, wheat at ₹3200, paddy at ₹4000, and gram at approximately ₹7000 per quintal.
Additionally, prices for urad, masoor, moong, and mustard are holding at ₹7000 per quintal, while soybeans are priced at ₹6500 per quintal. Sisodia attributed this to the farmers' diligent efforts, stating that these profitable rates are bringing smiles to their faces, which is a positive sign for the state's agricultural economy.
Government Policies Bolstering Farmer Prosperity
Former Minister Sisodia credited the achievement of good market prices to the effective coordination between the central and state governments. He expressed his gratitude towards Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
According to Sisodia, Scindia's intervention ensured the timely availability of fertilizers and a smooth power supply. This resulted in farmers achieving bumper crop yields this season, demonstrating how effective government policies and coordination can strengthen the agricultural sector. Sisodia emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring farmers receive fair prices for their produce.
He further stated that this is not just about market prices but a significant step towards increasing farmers' incomes and empowering them economically. The government considers the happiness and improved financial condition of farmers its utmost priority. On this occasion, Sisodia extended his best wishes to the farmers for the upcoming Diwali festival.
He reiterated that the happiness of the farmer brothers is his highest priority, and he is confident that the government's pro-people policies will pave the way for prosperity in the agricultural sector. Several senior workers and office-bearers of the Bharatiya Janata Party were present during the visit, engaging with farmers and understanding their concerns.
