Indore's multifaceted artist, Rashika Nema, has showcased her talent across diverse creative domains including dance, singing, acting, modeling, and music composition. A journey spanning more than two decades, securing third place on Zee TV's popular show Rock-N-Roll Family, remarkable milestones in Garba, and over 89 accolades stand as testaments to her dedication and active presence in the arts. Alongside her appearances on various television programs, she has served as a judge in arts and talent competitions for the past 20 years. The Cliff News sat down for an exclusive conversation with her regarding art, culture, accomplishments, and future aspirations.

The Cliff News: Rashika ji, a warm welcome to you. Could you tell us about your artistic journey?

Rashika Nema: Thank you very much. My artistic journey began in my childhood. I always harbored a keen interest in dance, singing, and acting. Gradually, this interest evolved into my passion. For more than 20 years, I have remained deeply connected to artistic and cultural pursuits. During this time, I received numerous opportunities to showcase my talent on diverse platforms and earn the love and appreciation of the audience.

The Cliff News: You have carved a niche for yourself across diverse fields like dance, singing, acting, and modeling. What is the secret behind this versatility?

Rashika Nema: I believe every individual possesses a distinct talent within themselves. What is essential is recognizing it and continually refining it. I love learning new things and honing my craft. That is precisely why I ventured into various fields such as dance, singing, acting, and modeling. For me, art is not merely a pastime; it is an integral part of my life.

The Cliff News: How was your experience participating in Zee TV's popular show Rock-N-Roll Family?

Rashika Nema: It remains one of the most memorable chapters of my life. Presenting my talent on such a grand stage and securing the third position was a moment of immense pride for me. Through this platform, I had the privilege of performing before Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Kajol. That experience elevated my confidence and inspired me to reach even higher.

The Cliff News: You have also been a part of shows like Sony TV's Super Moms and Doordarshan's Prerna. What key insights did you gain from these experiences?

Rashika Nema: Every platform imparts valuable lessons. Participating in reality shows fosters discipline, self-confidence, and a healthy competitive spirit, while acting allows us to explore and understand diverse character perspectives. These opportunities significantly contributed to my growth as a performer.

The Cliff News: You were also conferred with the ‘Champion of Champions Garba Queen’ title. What does Garba mean to you?

Rashika Nema: Garba is an exquisite aspect of our culture and heritage. Performing Garba during Navratri is not just a dance form for me; it is an expression of devotion to Goddess Durga and a way to stay rooted in our cultural traditions. Receiving the ‘Champion of Champions Garba Queen’ award at the nine-day celebration organized by the Sayaji Group in 2006 was an exceptionally special milestone for me.

The Cliff News: You have garnered recognition in the fields of singing and music composition as well. How did your interest in this domain develop?

Rashika Nema: Music is the purest and most beautiful medium to convey emotions. Alongside singing, I have always had a strong affinity for music composition. Being honored by Lions District 323 G for singing and composition, and receiving an award in Bhopal for lending my voice to and composing an anthem centered on Nari Shakti (women empowerment), are achievements I hold close to my heart.

The Cliff News: You have worked across commercials as well as mainstream television shows. Could you share some highlights from those experiences?

Rashika Nema: I had the privilege of working in ad campaigns for brands such as Aashirvaad Atta, BonTon Furniture, Nayan Optics, and Sakhi Saheli Masale. Additionally, being associated with celebrated shows like Indian Idol, Voice of India, and The Kapil Sharma Show was an enriching experience. All these avenues enabled me to connect with diverse audiences and showcase my skills.

The Cliff News: You have received over 89 awards. How do you perceive such widespread recognition?

Rashika Nema: To me, every award carries a fresh responsibility. It serves as a reminder to remain sincere to my art and to consistently strive for excellence. While receiving accolades brings happiness, the love, warmth, and trust of the audience remain my greatest achievement.

The Cliff News: Among the honors received in 2026, which ones hold special significance for you?

Rashika Nema: In 2026, being conferred with the ‘Versatile Artist’ award at Madhya Pradesh Proud Woman, the ‘Versatile Artist’ honor at the Tulika Samman, and the Shiromani Samman, alongside recognitions from various other organizations, has been a matter of immense pride. The honors bestowed by diverse social, cultural, and artistic bodies continuously inspire me to work with complete devotion.

The Cliff News: You have served as a judge in various talent competitions for the last 20 years. How do you approach this responsibility?

Rashika Nema: Serving as an adjudicator is a responsibility that demands utmost integrity. Every participant steps onto the stage carrying hard work, dedication, and high hopes. Therefore, my endeavor is always to evaluate their performance, effort, confidence, and talent objectively and impartially. Watching emerging artists blossom and succeed brings me immense joy.

The Cliff News: You have also portrayed the role of Lord Krishna. Could you describe that experience?

Rashika Nema: Portraying Lord Krishna has been a profoundly emotional and spiritual experience for me. Through this character, one gains deeper insights into Indian culture, tradition, and spirituality. I believe such roles enrich an artist not only in their craft but also internally.

The Cliff News: Your achievements have been featured in the media over 78 times. How do you view this visibility?

Rashika Nema: The media plays a pivotal role in taking an artist’s journey and milestones to the wider public. I am deeply grateful to all journalists and media representatives for featuring my work across print and other platforms. It encourages me to raise the bar for my craft.

The Cliff News: What message would you like to share with the young artists of today?

Rashika Nema: I would encourage young people to identify their innate talent, believe in their dreams, and never shy away from rigorous hard work. Hurdles may arise in the initial stages, but consistent practice, discipline, and perseverance will always pave the way forward. Instead of competing with others, strive to become a better version of yourself each day.

The Cliff News: What are your future plans?

Rashika Nema: I aim to remain actively engaged in dance, singing, acting, and music composition. Alongside this, I want to mentor emerging talents and actively contribute to socio-cultural initiatives. My continuous effort will be to bring happiness and positivity into people’s lives through my art.

The Cliff News: Finally, what is the true definition of success in your eyes?

Rashika Nema: For me, success is not merely defined by awards and accolades. True success is when your work brings a genuine smile to people's faces, enables you to build an authentic identity, and inspires others to advance in life. I firmly believe that when talent is paired with relentless dedication and an unyielding passion to achieve something meaningful, age is never an obstacle.
