Woman Arrested in Mirganj for Abetting Suicide
The Mirganj police station in Bareilly has arrested a woman wanted on serious charges of abetting suicide and issuing death threats. The arrest was made on October 9, 2026, following a tip-off near the flyover leading towards Rampur.
First Information Report Filed Against Nine Individuals
A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against a total of nine individuals in connection with the case. The primary accused, a woman, has now been apprehended by the police. The sequence of events began on September 18, 2026, when the complainant filed her complaint with the police.
Allegations of False Imprisonment and Suicidal Pressure
The complainant alleges that the accused pressured her son to be implicated in false cases, leading him to take the extreme step of suicide out of desperation. Furthermore, the complainant and her family had been receiving death threats for filing the complaint.
FIR Lodged Under IPC Sections
The FIR has been registered at the Mirganj police station under Crime Number 464/2026, invoking sections 108 and 351(3) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The specific charges relate to abetting suicide.
Main Accused in Abetting Suicide Arrested
The arrested woman has been identified as Jaswati, aged 26. She is a native of Nagaria Kalyanpur but was residing in Gram Mandoli, Fatehganj Paschim. The operation was carried out by a police team led by Sub-Inspector Rajveer Singh at approximately 8:15 AM.
Initial Interrogation and Confession
During preliminary questioning, Jaswati confessed that she married Dheeraj approximately eight years ago and they have three children. She also revealed frequent disagreements with her husband, who suspected her of having illicit affairs.
Search for Other Accused Underway
The police are currently searching for the other eight named accused in the case. The arrest team included Head Constable Mukul Pratap Singh and Woman Constable Meenu.
