2025 is turning into a landmark year for Mawra Hocane. Just days after tying the knot with actor Ameer Gilani, her Bollywood debut film, Sanam Teri Kasam, has made an extraordinary comeback at the Indian box office.
The 2016 romantic drama, directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, has now surpassed its original lifetime earnings within just two days of its re-release.
According to reports, the film raked in INR 30-32.5 million (Rs96–104 million) on its fourth day, bringing its total earnings to a massive INR 185 million (Rs595 million). This figure already more than doubles its initial 2016 theatrical run of INR 90 million (Rs289 million).
Box Office Surge & Record-Breaking Numbers
- Day 1: INR 42 million (Rs135 million)
- Day 2: INR 52 million (Rs167 million)
- Day 3: INR 62 million (Rs199 million)

Outperforming Recent Releases
The film’s comeback has even outshined new theatrical releases. On Monday, Sanam Teri Kasam earned twice the combined collections of Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravikumar and Junaid Khan-Khushi Kapoor’s Loveyapa, which collectively brought in only INR 11.6 million (Rs37 million).
Additionally, Sanam Teri Kasam recorded 157,000 ticket bookings on its first Saturday, surpassing Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’s re-release numbers and becoming the second-highest ticket-selling re-release ever.
A Cult Classic Reborn
Starring Mawra Hocane as Saraswati and Harshvardhan Rane as Inder, Sanam Teri Kasam continues to resonate with audiences, thanks to its heart-wrenching love story and Himesh Reshammiya’s timeless soundtrack.
With this newfound success, Mawra Hocane’s Bollywood journey is far from over, as she enjoys a wave of appreciation from fans and industry peers.
