Clashes Erupt During Cricket Celebration Rally in Madhya Pradesh

A rally celebrating India’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 victory turned violent in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, after stones were allegedly pelted at the participants. The incident, reported by PTI, led to clashes and acts of arson, escalating tensions in the area.

Rally Attacked Near Jama Masjid

A group of young cricket fans had taken to the streets to celebrate India’s final win against New Zealand. However, as their rally approached the Jama Masjid, unidentified individuals hurled stones at them. The sudden attack forced the celebrants to abandon their motorcycles and flee, according to eyewitnesses. In the aftermath, multiple vehicles were set on fire, further aggravating the situation.

Police Statement on the Incident

Deputy Inspector General of Police Nimish Agarwal stated that an altercation between two groups escalated into stone-pelting. He also confirmed that incidents of arson took place, with several vehicles being damaged.

Indore Collector Ashish Singh assured that the situation was under control. “Forces have been deployed in the area. How the incident started will be determined through further investigation. I appeal to everyone to stay calm and avoid spreading fake news. Strict action will be taken against those responsible,” he added.
