Boney Kapoor Announces Mom 2 with Khushi Kapoor at IIFA 2025

During the silver jubilee celebrations of IIFA 2025 on Sunday, producer Boney Kapoor made a significant announcement regarding his next project—a sequel to Mom, starring his daughter Khushi Kapoor. Speaking to the media on the green carpet, Boney shared his admiration for his daughters, Khushi and Janhvi Kapoor, and their dedication to following in their mother Sridevi’s footsteps in the film industry.

Boney expressed his pride in Khushi’s journey so far, stating, “I have watched all of Khushi’s films—Archies, Loveyappa, and Nadaaniyaan. I am planning a film with her too after No Entry. It could be Mom 2. She is trying to follow in the footsteps of her mother. Her mother was the top star in all the languages she worked in. I hope Khushi and Janhvi succeed in achieving the same level of perfection.”

Released in 2017, Mom was a gripping thriller featuring Sridevi in a powerful role, directed by Ravi Udyawar. The film told the story of a mother’s relentless pursuit of justice for her daughter, showcasing Sridevi’s exceptional acting skills. Her outstanding performance earned her the Best Actress National Award posthumously, making the film an emotional and cinematic landmark in her career.

Meanwhile, Khushi Kapoor’s latest film, Nadaaniyaan, has premiered on Netflix. Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, the film features an ensemble cast, including Ibrahim Ali Khan, Suniel Shetty, Mahima Chaudhry, Dia Mirza, and Jugal Hansraj. Backed by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra, Nadaaniyaan marks another step in Khushi’s evolving journey in the film industry.
