Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone—one of Bollywood’s most iconic on-screen duos—are all set to reunite once again for Siddharth Anand’s much-anticipated action thriller King. With hits like Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, Pathaan, and Jawan under their belt, their sixth collaboration promises to take their chemistry into deeper and more emotionally charged territory.
Deepika Padukone as Suhana Khan’s Mother
As per a report from PeepingMoon, Deepika Padukone will be seen in an extended cameo in King. But while the role might not be lengthy, it’s pivotal to the story’s emotional heart—she is cast as the mother of Suhana Khan’s character. The report notes that her character holds the key to the film’s central conflict and offers an emotional depth that shapes the narrative.
“Her character is integral to the plot and serves as the primary conflict in the storyline,” a source stated. Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand were reportedly very keen on casting Deepika for this emotionally rich part, and she agreed readily despite not having a full-fledged lead role.
SRK and Deepika: Power Duo Returns
King marks their third consecutive film together after the massive successes of Pathaan and Jawan. The duo’s on-screen bond is evolving into a more mature and layered dynamic, and fans can also look forward to another potential reunion in Pathaan 2, which is in the works under the YRF Spy Universe.
What’s King About?
While official plot details are still under wraps, King is said to be a gritty, revenge-based action thriller, with influences from the 2000 Bollywood film Bichhoo and the French classic Léon: The Professional (1994). SRK will reportedly play a lethal assassin who forms a partnership with a young girl—his real-life daughter Suhana Khan—after she suffers a devastating tragedy.
The film underwent major script changes after Siddharth Anand took over from Sujoy Ghosh as director. Initially envisioned as a compact thriller with a brief SRK role, King has now transformed into a full-blown SRK action spectacle packed with Siddharth Anand’s signature elements—high-octane sequences, intense drama, and a touch of emotion and romance.
Interestingly, Saif Ali Khan and Tabu were initially considered for the roles of Suhana’s parents, but the new script direction made way for Deepika’s powerful cameo instead.

The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan as the main antagonist, promising a fierce showdown. Rising talent Abhay Verma (Munjya) is also set to play a key role in the film, further amping up the excitement.
