A car belonging to National Award-winning actor Bobby Simha was involved in a major accident on Saturday after the driver, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, rammed into six vehicles, injuring at least four people, police confirmed.
The accident occurred as the vehicle was traveling from Ekkaduthangal to Chennai Airport. The actor was not present in the car at the time of the incident.
According to the Chennai Traffic Police, the driver, identified as Pushparaj, lost control while descending the Kathipara flyover near Alandur Metro Station due to over-speeding and drunk driving. The car collided with three motorcycles, two autorickshaws, and a car.
Four motorcyclists sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital. Police have arrested Pushparaj and booked him for drunk-driving and reckless endangerment.
