Rapper Vedan’s troubles have intensified after narcotic substances were discovered at his flat, leading to his admission of drug use and subsequent questioning by the police. The incident occurred at around 10 AM when Kochi’s White Hill Police Station, after receiving intelligence about narcotics consumption, raided Vedan’s apartment. Upon searching the premises, the police uncovered ganja and a sum of Rs 1.5 lakh.
According to reports, Vedan was present in the apartment at the time of the search, which involved a group of nine individuals. During police interrogation, Vedan confessed to using narcotics and provided information about where he had obtained the substances.
This latest case adds to the ongoing scrutiny around narcotic use in the entertainment industry, especially after two well-known filmmakers, Ashraf Hamza and Khalid Rahman, were also detained in connection with the case. Both directors, who have gained recognition for their work in Malayalam cinema, were arrested by the excise department in the early hours of the same day.

Ashraf Hamza (46), known for directing films like Sulaikha Manzil and Bheemantte Vazhi, and Khalid Rahman (35), the director of hits like Thallumala, Unda, and Anuraga Karikkin Vellam, were taken into custody along with their associate, Shali Mohammed (35), from an apartment owned by famous cinematographer Sameer Tahir in Ernakulam. The authorities revealed that the drug deal was facilitated through Shali Mohammed.
The excise department conducted the raid at the Poorva Grand Bay apartment near Goshree Bridge in the early hours of the morning. Following their arrest, FEFKA (Film Employees Federation of Kerala) suspended the two filmmakers from their duties in the industry.
