AIIMS Rishikesh Air Ambulance Helicopter Crash-Lands Near Kedarnath; All Onboard Safe

A helicopter operating as an air ambulance for AIIMS Rishikesh crash-landed near Kedarnath on Saturday due to damage sustained to its rear section, officials confirmed.

The helicopter was carrying three individuals — a doctor, the pilot (Captain), and a medical staff member. Fortunately, all three passengers are safe and escaped without any injuries.

Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey stated, “All three passengers, including one doctor, one Captain, and one medical staff, on board the helicopter are safe.”

The incident occurred approximately 20 metres short of the designated landing zone. The chopper was reportedly on a mission to evacuate a patient in need of urgent medical attention when the mishap took place.

Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the crash-landing. Meanwhile, the safety of the crew and medical personnel has brought relief amid concerns raised by the incident.
