Tamil actors Vishal, 47, and Sai Dhanshika, 35, have officially announced their marriage plans, set for August 29. The couple revealed the happy news during the press conference of their film Yogi Da in Chennai on Monday.
Dhanshika shared that although they have known each other for 15 years, their romantic relationship began only recently. She explained that the announcement was prompted by a viral news report that forced them to go public. “We initially wanted to keep it under wraps and just maintain our friendship in front of the media. But after the report surfaced, we felt there was nothing to hide,” she said.
Reflecting on their long acquaintance, Dhanshika said, “Whenever we met in the past, Vishal treated me with respect. When I was going through tough times, he visited my home and stood up for me. No hero has ever done that before—it was a very sweet and touching gesture.”
Speaking about their relationship, she added, “It was only recently that we started talking more, and it felt like it was leading somewhere. We mutually understood that we wanted to get married. I just want him to be happy. I love you, Vishal.”
Vishal expressed his joy and gratitude while introducing Dhanshika to the media along with her father, saying, “My marriage is fixed. Dhanshika is a wonderful person, and with her father’s blessings, I am happy to share this news. I want to, I’d love to, and I am going to marry Dhanshika.”
In a light-hearted moment, Vishal joked about learning stunt blocking techniques after seeing Dhanshika’s action sequences in Yogi Da, saying, “I hope we don’t fight like the Vadivelu and Kovai Sarala couple from Kaalam Mari Pochu. She kicks close to my head, so I’ll have to be prepared.”
Calling himself fortunate, Vishal said, “God always saves the best for last. He saved Dhanshika for me. We are going to lead a lovely life with great understanding and trust.”
He also assured fans that Dhanshika will continue her acting career post-marriage, praising her talent and saying, “I promise she will act because I do not want her talent to be confined.”
The couple concluded by thanking the media and fans for their warm response to the announcement.
