India currently has 1,009 active COVID-19 cases, according to the latest update from the Union Health Ministry’s portal as of 8 am Monday. Of these, 752 are recent infections, signaling a noticeable uptick in cases in certain states.
Kerala continues to report the highest number of active cases at 430, followed by Maharashtra with 209, Delhi with 104, and Karnataka with 47. These four states collectively account for the bulk of the current caseload.
In contrast, several states and union territories, including Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir, have no active cases at present.
Despite the recent rise in some regions, India’s overall COVID-19 recovery rate remains robust. The total number of people discharged after recovering from the virus stands at 4,45,11,545, while the nationwide death toll has reached 5,33,673.
Health authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, with a focus on surveillance, testing, and preparedness to manage any localized outbreaks.
