Countdown Begins for Housefull 5; Makers Submit Two Versions to CBFC Ahead of June 6 Release

One of the most anticipated Bollywood films of the year, Housefull 5, is gearing up for a grand release on June 6, 2025. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the comedy mystery thriller stars Akshay Kumar in the lead and boasts one of the largest ensembles ever assembled in Indian cinema — a staggering 24 actors.

Two Versions Submitted to CBFC

In an unprecedented move, the makers of Housefull 5 have submitted two different versions of the film to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). According to Pinkvilla, both versions have been viewed and approved by the CBFC, each granted a U/A certificate.

The reason for this unique strategy has been kept under wraps, but insiders suggest that it is tied to the film’s twisty, mystery-laced narrative — a fresh spin on the typically zany Housefull brand of comedy. This step is aimed at preserving the suspense and delivering a surprise element to audiences.

Runtime and Cast

The final theatrical runtime is 2 hours and 43 minutes, likely necessitated by the film’s massive cast, which includes:

  • Akshay Kumar
  • Riteish Deshmukh
  • Abhishek Bachchan
  • Sanjay Dutt
  • Nana Patekar
  • Fardeen Khan
  • Jacqueline Fernandez
  • Sonam Bajwa
  • Nargis Fakhri, and many more.

The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner.

Trailer Launch

The official trailer of Housefull 5 will be launched on May 27 at a star-studded event in Mumbai, with the entire ensemble cast expected to be present. This event is anticipated to be one of the biggest promotional spectacles of the year.

With two CBFC-certified versions, a gigantic cast, and the promise of a comic thriller twist, Housefull 5 is poised to offer a truly unique big-screen experience.
