Amid swirling rumours about her personal life, especially speculation linking her with actor Vijay Varma following his reported breakup with Tamannaah Bhatia, Fatima Sana Shaikh has set the record straight. During the trailer launch of her upcoming film ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’, the actress confirmed that she is currently single and humorously added, “No one is there. No good guys. They exist only in films.”
On Love, Equality, and Relationships
The trailer event also gave Fatima a chance to reflect on the theme of love and equality, which is central to Aap Jaisa Koi. She shared her views on what makes a healthy relationship:
“The idea of equality of love is where two people respect each other, listen to one another, and compromises are made by both. But when you come into a partnership, you work towards the relationship without losing yourself.”
Excited to Work with R. Madhavan
Fatima expressed excitement over working with R Madhavan in Aap Jaisa Koi. She called the story “honest” and appreciated the opportunity to explore a “layered character” in a romantic film.
“Who wouldn’t want to work with Madhavan? I was so excited about working with him.”
Upcoming Projects
After Aap Jaisa Koi, which will release digitally on Netflix on July 11, Fatima is gearing up for the theatrical release of ‘Metro… In Dino’, a spiritual sequel to the 2007 classic Life In A… Metro. The film features an ensemble cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, and Anupam Kher, and will release a week later in theatres.
She will also share screen space with Vijay Varma in the romantic drama ‘Ul Jalool Ishq’, which wrapped shooting last year.
With multiple exciting projects and a grounded outlook on relationships, Fatima is clearly channeling her focus on her craft and meaningful stories.
