Telugu superstar and newly appointed Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM, Pawan Kalyan, is all set to return to the big screen with his long-awaited period action drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu. The film is now confirmed to release on July 24, 2025, and marks his first theatrical outing after assuming office.
Bobby Deol as Aurangzeb Gets a Powerful Redo
Bollywood star Bobby Deol, who recently stunned audiences with his role in Animal, plays Aurangzeb, the primary antagonist in this pan-Indian spectacle. Initially, director Krish Jagarlamudi had helmed the film, but due to repeated delays, he stepped down. The project was later taken over by Jyothi Krishna, son of producer AM Rathnam.
Interestingly, Bobby Deol’s role was initially scrapped when Jyothi Krishna came on board. But after witnessing his fierce screen presence in Animal, the filmmakers rewrote and expanded his character, adding a backstory, dramatic confrontations with Pawan Kalyan, and fresh action sequences.
“Bobby was thrilled to shoot the new portions and he has absolutely killed it,” said director Jyothi Krishna, confirming that Bobby’s Aurangzeb will now be a key highlight of the film.
Film to Release in Two Parts
Hari Hara Veera Mallu narrates the story of a lesser-known Telugu freedom fighter, Veera Mallu, played by Pawan Kalyan, who rebelled against the Mughal Empire during Aurangzeb’s reign. The film blends patriotism, historical fiction, and grand-scale action.
