Amitabh Bachchan’s Juhu Bungalow Prateeksha Submerged in Heavy Mumbai Rains

The relentless downpour in Mumbai has brought large parts of the city to a standstill, with flooding, traffic jams and power outages reported across several areas. Among the properties hit by severe waterlogging is Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic bungalow, Prateeksha, located in Juhu.

Viral Videos Show Waterlogged Premises

Photos and videos of rainwater flooding the premises of the ₹50 crore property have gone viral on social media. Content creators and curious onlookers gathered outside the residence, turning the incident into a tourist attraction.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) shared visuals from outside and inside the bungalow, offering a glimpse of the parking area and surrounding premises submerged in water. However, security staff quickly escorted him out. Another user posted pictures highlighting the heavy accumulation of rainwater outside the gates of Prateeksha.

A Home Full of Memories

Prateeksha holds a special place in the Bachchan family’s legacy. It was the first home Amitabh Bachchan purchased in Mumbai after the success of Sholay (1975). He lived there with his parents, and the bungalow later became the venue for Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai’s grand wedding in 2007.

Today, the superstar owns three bungalows in Mumbai—Jalsa, Janak and Prateeksha. A few years ago, he gifted Prateeksha to his daughter Shweta Nanda. Located just a kilometre from Jalsa, the property is valued at ₹50 crore.
