Actor Shah Rukh Khan experienced a heartfelt moment on stage during the preview launch of The Bads of Bollywood, the upcoming Netflix series that marks the directorial debut of his son Aryan Khan, who has also written the project. The event turned emotional as Shah Rukh, Aryan, and producer Gauri Khan posed together, symbolizing a proud family milestone.
When Gauri joined them on stage, Shah Rukh and Aryan held her hands as the trio posed. Soon after, Shah Rukh gestured towards Aryan, stepping aside with Gauri so that their son could take the spotlight. Aryan, visibly confident, interacted with the media while his parents watched proudly.
The Preview Launch
The preview opened with Shah Rukh narrating what Bollywood is, highlighting the distinction between “a hero” and “a born hero.” He reflected on how the industry nurtures countless dreams, though only a few truly achieve stardom.
The show then introduces Lakshya Lalwani as rising star Aasman Singh, supported by his friend played by Raghav Juyal. Actor Manish Chaudhry appears as wealthy producer Sodawallah, who dreams of making the biggest family drama ever. Bobby Deol features as superstar Ajay Talvar, while Salman Khan makes a special cameo at a “bulls**t party,” and Ranveer Singh closes with his signature exclamation, “very hard.”
Industry Cheers Aryan On
The launch also sparked reactions from Bollywood celebrities. Actor Sanjay Kapoor, a family friend of the Khans, congratulated Aryan warmly. Ananya Panday, close to Aryan and his sister Suhana Khan, shared the preview on Instagram, writing: “Wooohooo! If the preview is this fun, you can imagine how fun the show is gonna be!!!! Congratulations Director…@aryan.”
Filmmaker Karan Johar, one of Shah Rukh’s closest friends, praised Aryan’s effort, calling the show “absolute blockbuster material.” He wrote, “It’s your time to shine…welcome to the movies!!! This looks like absolute blockbuster material and I know how much hard work you have put into it for years!”
Release Plans
While the teaser and full trailer are yet to be unveiled, The Bads of Bollywood will officially premiere on Netflix on September 18, 2025.
