Andhra Pradesh Posts 10.5% Growth in Q1, CM Naidu Sets 17% Target for FY 2025-26

Amaravati: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday announced that Andhra Pradesh’s economy clocked a 10.50% growth in the first quarter of FY 2025-26, surpassing the national average of 8.8%. While lauding the double-digit growth, he urged officials to push harder, aiming for 17.1% growth this fiscal year and a long-term goal of 25%.

Chairing a review meeting on GSDP performance at his camp office, Naidu said the state’s long coastline and rich natural resources offer untapped potential. He stressed the need to focus on underperforming areas such as transport, insurance, and real estate.

Sector-wise performance in Q1 (2025-26):

  • Industries sector: Highest growth at 11.91%; mining & quarrying surged 43.54% (10,686 crore), manufacturing grew **9.93%** (40,515 crore), construction rose 9.57% (`31,550 crore).
  • Services sector: Grew 10.70%; trade, hotels & restaurants led with 17.92% (25,702 crore), real estate & professional services up **11.70%** (34,324 crore), tourism expanded 17.08%, tourists increasing from 6.89 crore to 8.07 crore. Air passengers rose 21.1% (13.09 lakh → 15.85 lakh).
  • Agriculture sector: Recorded 9.60% growth; livestock grew 6.65%, fishing & aquaculture surged 14.52% (`32,110 crore), meat production rose 8% (+3.41 lakh MT), egg production up from 62,157 lakh to 67,450 lakh.

Naidu said constant monitoring, coupled with reforms and sectoral focus, would help the state sustain its momentum and unlock double-digit, inclusive growth.
