ED Raids Properties Linked to DMK Minister KN Nehru’s Family Across Tamil Nadu

Chennai/Tiruchy/Coimbatore, April 8: In a significant move, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday conducted raids at multiple locations across Chennai, Tiruchy, and Coimbatore as part of an ongoing probe into financial irregularities involving the TVH Group, a real estate company allegedly promoted by KN Ravichandran, brother of senior DMK leader and State Minister KN Nehru. According to official sources, the searches were connected to banking transactions by the TVH Group, with raids conducted at over 10 locations, including high-profile neighborhoods in Chennai like Adyar, Teynampet, Alwarpet, CIT Colony, Besant Nagar, and MRC Nagar. Key Highlights: Political Reactions: Amid rising political temperatures, Law Minister S Regupathy slammed the ED, calling it a “non-political ally of the BJP.” Drawing parallels with other opposition leaders facing similar action, he said the agency functions as “an extended arm of the BJP.” In a late evening press conference, DMK MP and legal wing head NR Elango described the raids as politically motivated and retaliatory, stating: “These delayed and unlawful raids target DMK leaders whenever our Chief Minister MK Stalin raises constitutional issues. The case in question appears to be related to a 2013 bank transaction, already charge-sheeted by the CBI in 2021. There is no indication that it involves any new corruption charge.” Minister’s Response: Despite the tense atmosphere as DMK cadres assembled near the raid locations, Minister KN Nehru was seen urging his supporters to leave and not interfere with the ED’s actions. This helped defuse the situation, avoiding any confrontation.

Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela’s Darjeeling Shoot Grabs Headlines Amid Viral Crowd Incident

Kartik Aaryan and rising South star Sreeleela, who are currently shooting for Anurag Basu’s upcoming romantic drama, found themselves at the center of a viral moment during the film’s Darjeeling schedule. A video circulating online shows the duo moving through a packed crowd when Sreeleela is suddenly grabbed by a man, leaving her visibly shaken while Kartik walks ahead, initially unaware. The Incident In the now-viral clip, Kartik and Sreeleela are being escorted through a bustling crowd—likely fans or onlookers during a public shoot—when Sreeleela is unexpectedly pulled. The actress instinctively raises her arm to protect herself, looking disturbed. Kartik, a few steps ahead, only turns around after a moment to realize she is not beside him. While the authenticity of the moment sparked debate—some wondering if it was part of a scene being filmed—most viewers were quick to condemn the incident as real and deeply troubling. Social Media Reactions The moment has sparked an emotional response across platforms: Fans have also urged the production team and local authorities to step up crowd control and security, especially when shooting in public locations. Kartik & Sreeleela’s Project and Chemistry This yet-to-be-titled romantic musical is being shot across Gangtok, Darjeeling, and Siliguri, and is produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series. While it was earlier speculated to be Aashiqui 3, the film’s current form appears to be a fresh love story penned by Basu. Kartik and Sreeleela’s on-screen chemistry has already been generating buzz, and their off-screen camaraderie—including Kartik’s March 28 Instagram post captioned “Tu Meri Zindagi Hai”—has only added fuel to rumours about a real-life romance blossoming on set. Meeting the Sikkim CM Adding a political-cultural angle to the film’s schedule, the cast and crew recently met with Sikkim’s Chief Minister on April 2, receiving a warm welcome and blessings for their film. Whether the crowd incident was scripted or not, it has certainly drawn attention to celebrity safety during public shoots, and to the growing excitement surrounding this Kartik-Sreeleela collaboration. With a Diwali 2025 release window being eyed, all eyes are now on how this film shapes up—and how its stars continue to navigate both fan frenzy and professional chemistry.

Jasleen Royal Opens Up About Coldplay Concert Backlash in Emotional Documentary ‘Dare To Dream’

Months after receiving widespread criticism for her performance as the opening act for Coldplay’s concert in Mumbai, singer-songwriter Jasleen Royal has broken her silence. In a deeply personal and emotional mini-documentary titled Dare To Dream, Jasleen offers a behind-the-scenes look at the mental and emotional toll the incident took on her. A Glimpse Into the Struggle The documentary begins with Jasleen backstage during Day 2 of the concert at DY Patil Stadium, visibly shaken but trying to stay composed. She is seen scrolling through her phone as her team attempts to cheer her up. Addressing the technical issues that marred her performance, she asks, “What was the problem yesterday? Why were my in-ears bursting?” A team member responds with an apology, acknowledging the failure on the technical front. The Weight of Criticism One of the most heartbreaking moments in the video is when Jasleen breaks down in front of her team, saying, “After a certain point, I can feel it like ‘it’s time to go home’. There’s a lot of pressure. I’ll die; I swear I’ll die,” as tears stream down her face. She goes on to explain the deep self-doubt and anxiety triggered by social media trolling. “I don’t want people to think that she didn’t deserve to be here… I’m a self-taught musician. So, I know I am not perfect. I keep learning every day,” she confesses in a voice choked with emotion. Facing Public Criticism Following the performance, Jasleen faced intense backlash, not just from trolls but also from industry insiders. Music director Vishal Dadlani harshly criticized her on social media, stating, “When you put a basic-to-bad singer in front of a large crowd on a large stage, all you’re doing is showing more people that the individual can’t really sing… How embarrassing! For the country, the artiste, the public, and the scene.” Singer Antara Mitra and filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri also joined in, amplifying the scrutiny. Strength in Vulnerability Despite the pain and negativity, Dare To Dream is ultimately a testament to Jasleen’s resilience. Rather than responding with anger or denial, she uses the documentary to be open about her imperfections, insecurities, and drive to grow as an artist. By sharing her truth, Jasleen Royal not only reclaims her narrative but also sparks an important conversation about mental health, self-worth, and the unseen struggles that come with performing on the big stage. As the film’s title suggests, Jasleen’s journey continues—not defined by setbacks, but by the courage to keep dreaming anyway.

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone Reunite in Siddharth Anand’s Action Thriller ‘King’; Deepika to Play Suhana Khan’s On-Screen Mother

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone—one of Bollywood’s most iconic on-screen duos—are all set to reunite once again for Siddharth Anand’s much-anticipated action thriller King. With hits like Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, Pathaan, and Jawan under their belt, their sixth collaboration promises to take their chemistry into deeper and more emotionally charged territory. Deepika Padukone as Suhana Khan’s Mother As per a report from PeepingMoon, Deepika Padukone will be seen in an extended cameo in King. But while the role might not be lengthy, it’s pivotal to the story’s emotional heart—she is cast as the mother of Suhana Khan’s character. The report notes that her character holds the key to the film’s central conflict and offers an emotional depth that shapes the narrative. “Her character is integral to the plot and serves as the primary conflict in the storyline,” a source stated. Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand were reportedly very keen on casting Deepika for this emotionally rich part, and she agreed readily despite not having a full-fledged lead role. SRK and Deepika: Power Duo Returns King marks their third consecutive film together after the massive successes of Pathaan and Jawan. The duo’s on-screen bond is evolving into a more mature and layered dynamic, and fans can also look forward to another potential reunion in Pathaan 2, which is in the works under the YRF Spy Universe. What’s King About? While official plot details are still under wraps, King is said to be a gritty, revenge-based action thriller, with influences from the 2000 Bollywood film Bichhoo and the French classic Léon: The Professional (1994). SRK will reportedly play a lethal assassin who forms a partnership with a young girl—his real-life daughter Suhana Khan—after she suffers a devastating tragedy. The film underwent major script changes after Siddharth Anand took over from Sujoy Ghosh as director. Initially envisioned as a compact thriller with a brief SRK role, King has now transformed into a full-blown SRK action spectacle packed with Siddharth Anand’s signature elements—high-octane sequences, intense drama, and a touch of emotion and romance. Interestingly, Saif Ali Khan and Tabu were initially considered for the roles of Suhana’s parents, but the new script direction made way for Deepika’s powerful cameo instead. A Stellar Ensemble The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan as the main antagonist, promising a fierce showdown. Rising talent Abhay Verma (Munjya) is also set to play a key role in the film, further amping up the excitement. Release Timeline King is currently in pre-production, with filming expected to kick off in Mumbai next month. If everything stays on track, the film is eyeing a late 2026 theatrical release, making it one of the most anticipated upcoming projects in Bollywood. With a power-packed cast, an emotionally resonant plot, and Siddharth Anand’s blockbuster vision, King is shaping up to be another unforgettable chapter in SRK and Deepika’s enduring on-screen saga.

Kunal Kamra Moves Bombay High Court to Quash FIR Over ‘Gaddar’ Remark Allegedly Aimed at Eknath Shinde

Comedian and political satirist Kunal Kamra approached the Bombay High Court on Monday, April 7, 2025, seeking an urgent hearing on his plea to quash an FIR filed against him for allegedly making a controversial remark during a recent stand-up performance. Kamra’s show featured the term ‘gaddar’ (traitor) in a context that was interpreted by some as a veiled reference to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, prompting outrage and legal action. Urgency Cited Amid Death Threats, Lapsed Protection The plea was mentioned before a Division Bench of Justices Sarang Kotwal and S.M. Modak by senior advocate Navroz Seervai, who emphasized the urgent nature of the case. Seervai told the court that Kamra is facing numerous death threats following the controversy and added that the interim protection granted by the Madras High Court — which had previously offered him legal respite — was set to expire on April 7, making the matter one of grave concern. Taking note of the urgency, the High Court agreed to hear the petition on Tuesday, April 8. Background of the Controversy The FIR against Kamra stems from allegations that his joke, delivered during a recent performance, was defamatory and incited unrest by insinuating that a political leader — allegedly Eknath Shinde — was a “traitor.” While Kamra did not name anyone explicitly, political groups sympathetic to Shinde lodged complaints claiming the remarks were targeted and disrespectful. Kamra has maintained that his work falls under freedom of expression and satire, and has previously faced legal challenges and criticism for his bold political commentary. Free Speech vs. Offence: A Broader Debate This case once again brings into focus the delicate balance between freedom of expression and defamation laws in India. Kamra’s legal team is expected to argue that satirical speech, especially by a comedian, is protected under Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution, which guarantees the right to freedom of speech and expression. The outcome of the hearing on April 8 will be closely watched by free speech advocates, artists, and the political establishment alike.

Fake UK Cardiologist Impersonator Booked After 7 Deaths in Madhya Pradesh Hospital

In a shocking case of medical fraud, Madhya Pradesh Police have registered a case against a man who allegedly posed as a British-trained cardiologist and caused the deaths of seven patients at a missionary hospital in Damoh. The accused, who went by the name Dr Narendra John Camm, is suspected to be Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, and is believed to have impersonated renowned UK-based cardiologist Professor John Camm. Impersonation and Unauthorised Surgeries According to officials, the accused conducted unauthorised angiographies and angioplasties without valid credentials at the Mission Hospital. A First Information Report (FIR) was filed late Sunday based on a complaint by Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) MK Jain, who stated that the individual lacked registration with the Madhya Pradesh Medical Council (MPMC). The FIR also noted discrepancies in the documents presented by the hospital, which claimed that the accused was registered with the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council. However, no such record existed on the official portal. Sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Invoked The police have invoked multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including 315(4), 338, 336(3), 340(2), and 3(5) — all related to fraud, forgery, misappropriation, and criminal conspiracy. Investigators revealed that the accused fabricated documents and used the identity of the real Prof. John Camm to deceive both patients and hospital authorities. Hospital Manager Also Under Scanner The hospital’s management has come under intense scrutiny. The manager of the Mission Hospital is being investigated for presenting unverified degree certificates and registration documents without proper authentication from any recognised medical body. NHRC Team to Probe Deaths and Ayushman Bharat Misuse Amid public outrage, a team from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), led by member Priyank Kanoongo, has begun an on-ground probe in Damoh from April 7 to 9. The NHRC team will investigate the circumstances around the seven patient deaths, as well as the misuse of funds under the Ayushman Bharat health scheme. “This case involves grave human rights violations and potential systemic negligence,” Kanoongo posted on social media platform X, urging families of victims and others with information to meet the team during their visit. Hospital Tenure and Death Timeline Under Lens Sources revealed that the impersonator had worked in the cardiology department from January to February 2025, during which multiple deaths occurred, reportedly due to incorrect or unsafe cardiac procedures. The Damoh District Collector Sudhir Kochar confirmed that a formal complaint had been received and investigations into the role of hospital management in shielding the fake doctor were ongoing. This disturbing incident has raised serious concerns over hospital accountability, patient safety, and verification mechanisms in India’s healthcare system.
