Election Strategist Prashant Kishor Joins Vijay’s TVK as Special Adviser for 2026 Tamil Nadu Polls
Prominent election strategist Prashant Kishor has extended his support and guidance to actor-turned-politician Vijay and his party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Kishor, who previously played a key role in DMK’s 2021 victory, will now act as a special adviser to TVK, though no formal agreement has been signed. Three-Hour Strategy Meet in Chennai On Monday, Kishor met Vijay in Chennai for an extensive three-hour discussion, where they delved into the current political landscape of Tamil Nadu and India. The meeting was initiated after TVK leadership expressed interest in Kishor’s expertise, particularly as the party gears up to challenge the DMK and BJP in 2026. Kishor’s Role in TVK’s Political Roadmap Kishor, who currently leads Jan Suraaj in Bihar, will assist TVK in election strategy, offering insights similar to his advisory role in the TDP’s successful 2024 Andhra Pradesh campaign. He will work closely with TVK’s General Secretary Aadhav Arjuna and Vijay’s key strategist Jhon Arokiasamy. Notably, Arjuna was a close collaborator with Kishor during the 2021 DMK campaign. Vijay’s Political Aspirations & Ideological Foundations TVK has confirmed that Vijay will be the Chief Ministerial candidate in 2026 and is actively building alliances to challenge the ruling party. The actor-politician draws inspiration from social reformer Periyar, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, former Tamil Nadu CM K. Kamaraj, and freedom fighters Rani Velu Nachiyar and Anjalai Ammal. With his upcoming film Jana Nayagan—a political action drama—set to be his final film, Vijay is expected to embark on a state-wide tour post its release to strengthen his party’s grassroots presence. With Prashant Kishor’s strategic expertise and Vijay’s mass appeal, the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections are shaping up to be an intense political battle.
