Ilaiyaraaja Sends Legal Notice to Good Bad Ugly Makers Over Unauthorized Use of Iconic Songs

Legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja has taken legal action against Mythri Movie Makers, the producers of the upcoming Ajith Kumar starrer Good Bad Ugly, for the unauthorized use of his musical compositions. The legal notice, issued through his legal representatives Maths Law Associates, alleges copyright infringement and violation of the composer’s moral and statutory rights. In the notice, Ilaiyaraaja claims that three of his iconic songs — “Otha Rubayum Tharen” from Nattupura Pattu, “Ilamai Idho Ido” from Sakalakala Vallavan, and “En Jodi Manja Kuruvi” from Vikram — were used in Good Bad Ugly without his permission or payment of due royalties. The composer asserted that he had not granted any express or implied consent for the use, modification, or adaptation of these works in any form, making their usage unauthorized and unlawful. Citing Sections 19(9) and 19(10) of the Copyright Act, Ilaiyaraaja emphasized that as the original composer, he is entitled to receive royalties for the use of his work across all formats. He further invoked Section 51 for copyright infringement and mentioned that his moral rights under Section 57 were violated due to the distortion and alteration of his work without approval. The case was filed against nine members of the hospital management for allegedly using forged signatures of a doctor to illegally run a cath lab within the hospital premises. This action follows a complaint by one Krishna Patel, who approached the Human Rights Commission alleging fraudulent activities in the name of heart surgeries at the hospital. Patel accused Dr. Yadav of performing surgeries using a fake identity, supported by suspicious documents—his Aadhaar card reportedly listed a German national as his father and contained other questionable details. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the matter thoroughly. Two Indian Nationals Killed in Dubai Bakery Attack; Families Seek Repatriation of Bodies

Kishan Reddy confirmed the identity of the second deceased as Srinivas from Nizamabad district. A third individual, Sagar, was injured in the attack and is currently hospitalized, according to his wife. Expressing deep grief, Reddy took to social media platform X to announce that he had spoken with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, who assured full support to the bereaved families and the prompt repatriation of the victims’ remains. “Deeply shocked by the brutal killing of two Telugu youth from Telangana in Dubai, Ashtapu Premsagar and Srinivas. Spoke to Hon’ble External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar ji on the matter and he has assured full support to the bereaved families, and the urgent repatriation of the mortal remains,” Reddy posted. Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar also expressed condolences, confirming that both MEA and Union Home Ministry officials are closely monitoring the situation. He urged the Dubai police, through the Indian consulate, to expedite the investigation and legal process. “We are extending all necessary support for the early repatriation of the victims and stand firmly with their families in this hour of grief,” Kumar added. The Ministry of External Affairs has assured that it is working to secure swift justice and repatriation of the bodies while offering all necessary diplomatic and legal assistance through the Indian Consulate in Dubai.
