Journalists Achieve Long-Standing Demand for Dedicated Building
A significant achievement has been realized for journalists, who serve as the fourth pillar of democracy. In a historic decision, the Aaron Municipal Council has temporarily allocated its **old reading room building** for use as a journalist building.
This decision has brought a wave of happiness among the local media fraternity, and the Municipal Council's sensitive step is being widely appreciated. This journalist building has been a long-standing demand by journalists for years.
Process of Allocation and Key Support
The demand was formally raised on December 5, 2025, when the Madhya Pradesh Press Club Block President and the local journalist association submitted an application to the Municipal Council requesting a building.
Keeping the interests of journalists in mind, the Municipal Council took this application seriously. On October 7, 2026, the council passed Resolution Number 331. Following the resolution, an order (Order Number 2259) was issued by the Chief Municipal Officer on October 13, 2026. This order allocates the old reading room building for journalists' use until further notice.
The guidance of Jaywardhan Singh, the MLA for the Raghougarh constituency, was crucial throughout this entire process. MLA Singh, known for being a well-wisher of journalists, played a consistently positive role in fulfilling this demand.
Gratitude and Future Outlook
For this significant achievement of building allocation, the Journalists' Union of Madhya Pradesh, the Madhya Pradesh Press Club, and all journalist units in Aaron have expressed heartfelt gratitude to regional MLA Jaywardhan Singh, Municipal Council President Aruna Shailesh Jain, Vice President Sandhya Rajeev Raghuvanshi, MLA Representative Mintu Lal Jain, all councilors, and the Chief Municipal Officer.
Journalists believe that MLA Jaywardhan Singh's visionary thinking and the Aaron Municipal Council's decision will set an exemplary precedent for other local bodies in the state. This newly allocated building will prove instrumental in providing a better working environment for local journalists, enabling them to discharge their responsibilities more effectively.
