Madhya Pradesh Police Conduct Major Anti-Drug Raids
Madhya Pradesh Police have intensified their campaign against illegal narcotic substances with significant actions in Alirajpur and Narsinghpur districts. These operations resulted not only in the seizure of large quantities of cannabis plants and smack but also in the confiscation of assets valued at approximately 1 crore 52 lakh rupees, earned through the illegal trade.
The dual action by the police has sent shockwaves through the drug trade network. In Alirajpur district, a joint team from four police stations and the cyber cell successfully seized 2,040 cannabis plants from two farms in the Ambua police station area. The plants weighed a total of 20 quintals and 79 kilograms, with an estimated value of about one crore rupees. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with this case and booked under the NDPS Act.
'Operation Eagle Claw' Uncovers Smack Network in Narsinghpur
Meanwhile, in Narsinghpur district, under 'Operation Eagle Claw', the police have exposed a major smack supply network, arresting three individuals. During a blockade in the Sankal Road area, police recovered a total of 500 grams of smack from two accused, with one carrying 270 grams and the other 230 grams. Based on crucial information obtained from the arrested individuals during interrogation, police apprehended the alleged main supplier from an area bordering Rajasthan.
This operation also led to the seizure of two motorcycles and two mobile phones. The total value of the seized smack, vehicles, and other items is estimated to be around 52 lakh rupees. The arrested individuals have been booked under the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway to trace the supply network, the accused's criminal records, acquired assets, and their financial transactions.
These actions by the Madhya Pradesh Police represent a significant step towards curbing the illegal drug trade. The police department has reiterated its commitment to continuing strict legal action, including the seizure of narcotics, arrest of traffickers, busting of supply chains, and confiscation of illegally acquired assets.
