Thief Caught Red-Handed After Temple Theft

A copper kalash was stolen from the Shiva family temple within the Prandaata Hanuman temple premises in Narsinghpur. The incident occurred around 4 AM on October 5, 2026, when an unidentified individual stole the copper kalash kept in the temple.
Devotees arriving for morning prayers discovered the kalash missing, causing an uproar in the area. Upon receiving information about the incident, members of the temple devotee committee immediately began reviewing the CCTV camera footage from the temple. The footage clearly showed an individual carrying away the kalash.
Swift Action Leads to Quick Arrest
Based on this evidence, the committee informed the Narsinghpur Police about the incident. Using the CCTV footage, the police identified the accused as Sonu Rajput. Following the registration of the case, the police took prompt action, apprehending and arresting the accused within just one hour.
During police interrogation, the stolen copper kalash was recovered from the accused. The police team, led by Station House Officer Guja Solanki, played a commendable role in this case. The team included Sub-Inspector Abhay Singh Pradhan, Investigator Rajmal Ahirwar, Constables Mukesh Verma, Raghavendra Sharma, Shubham Birathre, Anil, and Soldier Arvind.
Community Applauds Police and Future Security Measures
Local residents and the temple committee lauded the swift action by the police. The temple committee is currently considering strengthening security measures and increasing surveillance to prevent future incidents. The police have also assured to increase patrolling and maintain a close watch on suspicious activities to ensure peace in the area.
Further judicial proceedings against the accused will continue as per the law.
