State Election Commissioner Manoj Shrivastava underscored the pivotal role of the national song Vande Mataram in fostering national consciousness and honoring India's cultural heritage. Speaking at a special cultural event in Narmadapuram, Shrivastava emphasized the song's historical and constitutional importance for contemporary India.
The event, themed the Vande Mataram and Yuva Sankalp Programme, was organized by Pragya Pravah, Madhya Bharat Prant, as part of the Pre-Lokmanthan 2026 series. It commenced with traditional worship and a collective rendition of the national song, setting a patriotic tone.
Cultural and Constitutional Significance
In his address, Chief Speaker Manoj Shrivastava delved into the literary, cultural, and constitutional significance of Vande Mataram. He articulated that each word of the anthem embodies the fundamental essence, strength, and knowledge of India. Shrivastava highlighted the song's historical impact, noting its function as a crucial catalyst during the freedom movement, effectively nurturing self-confidence and national unity among citizens.
He further elaborated on the broader goals of the Lokmanthan initiative, which aims to facilitate a dynamic exchange of ideas across diverse societal strata. Shrivastava cautioned the audience about the contemporary landscape of competing ideological narratives, stressing the imperative to maintain an Indian perspective and the objective of social welfare at the forefront of public discourse.
Inspiring Youth and National Pride
The programme, held at the Girls’ College in Narmadapuram, was presided over by Madhur Prasad, Retired Additional Director of Higher Education. Sunil Singh delivered the introductory remarks, setting the stage for Shrivastava's address. The event saw a significant turnout, including educators and students, with notable attendees such as Dr. Bharti Dubey, Durga Kalas, and Tahir Ali.
According to the organizers, a primary objective of the initiative was to instill a profound sense of cultural awareness and national pride in the younger generation. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Santosh Vyas, expressing appreciation to the distinguished guests and enthusiastic student participants.
