Accused Arrested in Home Invasion and Assault Case

The Devraniya Police Station in Bareilly has successfully apprehended a wanted accused involved in breaking into a home, assaulting the occupants, and issuing death threats. The police have completed the legal procedures and presented the accused, Sagir Ahmad, before the court.

Community Violence and Registered Case

The incident occurred on September 19, 2026, in village Girdharpur, following a complaint filed by the victim, Mo. Shumail, at the Devraniya Police Station. According to the complaint, a group of accused allegedly broke down the victim's door and forcibly entered the premises.

Subsequently, they brutally assaulted the victim and his father with sticks, sharp weapons, and iron rods. During the assault, the accused also threatened to kill the victim. The police registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (BNS), under FIR number 384/2026.

Police Action and Accused's Arrest

As part of ongoing campaigns against criminals, under the directive of senior officials, the Devraniya police maintained consistent pressure to arrest the accused. On the night of October 7, 2026, around 9:30 PM, the police received a tip-off that the wanted accused, Sagir Ahmad, son of Mo. Hanif, a resident of village Girdharpur, was present on the road towards Semikheda.

Acting swiftly on the information, the police team arrested him on the spot. The arresting police team included Senior Sub-Inspector Vipin Tomar, Constable Bittu Singh, and Constable Divyanshu. After taking the accused into custody, the police completed the necessary legal formalities and presented him in court.

This action clearly demonstrates the police's promptness and seriousness in maintaining law and order in the region. The police are now actively searching for other absconding accused involved in this case.
